If sustainability is going to work people have to not feel “put out,” in a negative way. There is a difference between being “put out,” and simply being more mindful of your choices. People need to take sustainable changes in such increments that they are manageable and not overwhelming.

But sustainability can not be just a “fashion movement.” Fashions come and go, but given the situation with “Peak Oil,” and climate change, along with economic changes and the state of our culture, we cannot afford to have these changes go “out of style.” While I applaud people taking “green” into consideration, I hope that are not looking at being martyrs to a cause, but that they are looking at a more positive, pleasing future.
